Nadine SinghFrom arriving in a new country as a teen mother and high school dropout to becoming a CEO, Nadine “Deanie” Singh, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, acts as an inspiration to others to seek an education.

Nadine was first recommended South University by another student while she was working in an ICU. She already was a registered nurse, but she longed to do more for her community. The Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in Family Nurse Practitioner program appealed to her as it was structured around supporting working students. During this time, the concept of what later would become Premier Mobile Health Services was born. After graduating in 2015 with her MSN from the Savannah campus, she later returned to South University to earn her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree, which she earned in 2023 as part of South’s online programs.

After using her own personal savings to buy a used RV off eBay, Nadine started her nonprofit entity Premier Mobile Health Services. The premise of Premier Mobile Health is to make healthcare more accessible by underserved populations and has 12 affiliation agreements with national and local universities in Florida, providing hands-on, real-world training to many soon-to-be healthcare professionals. The success of Premier has earned Nadine multiple accolades, including Preceptor of the Year, Person of the Year, and CEO of the Year nominations. Most notably, she was recently honored with the Healthcare Entrepreneur of the Year award, a prestigious Fortuna Award presented in Dubai, and an invitation to be a part of the Harvard University Mobile Health Map.

Nadine credits both her own resiliency and South University for helping her accomplish all that she has. “The didactics, the rotations, the clinical experiences - these were super helpful experiences to help polish and improve my nursing skills. Further, the academic environment provided the structure, support and focus necessary to conceive, develop and ultimately implement our plan to bring mobile healthcare to our community's neediest residents.”

To any future nursing students, Nadine has this advice to share: “Don't go straight from undergraduate school to grad school. Get experience, get your feet wet and learn your profession before becoming a nurse practitioner. Get some real-world experience, own your career.”
