It is up to each student to review the national and state licensure requirements for licensure, as well as the eligibility criteria to sit for licensure exams. Graduates are required to sit for and pass the national certification exam and obtain a state license in order to work in the field. Your Questions, Answered
When should I apply to South University?
We offer 4 start dates for international students: January, June (PharmD only), July and October. We don’t have an application deadline. However, we recommend international students apply at least 3 months before the program's start date. This ensures you have sufficient time to process your admission and apply for your F-1 student visa.
How can I apply?
If you are applying through a local agent in your country, they should provide you with an application link. If your application is direct, please email our international office at international@southuniversity.edu and one of our friendly advisors will get in touch with you to guide you through the application process.
Do I need to submit a credential evaluation report to apply for admissions?
Applicants who have attended high school or university outside of the USA will need a third party to complete a foreign credential evaluation. You can request a credential evaluation report from any evaluator listed with NACES.
Do you support Optional Practical Training (OPT) for F-1 students?
Yes, upon completion of your academic program you are eligible to apply for OPT. This is a beneficial program in the United States that allows eligible international students on F-1 visas to gain valuable hands-on work experience directly related to their field of study. Our DSO will guide you through the documents required to submit your application for OPT.
Do you offer housing?
South University does not provide housing, but our international office will assist you in navigating the accommodation search process.
